Windows
Windows and patio doors above the basement level are constructed with Low E coated glass, warm edge spacers and filled with Argon gas to to keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The Low E coating will also reduce premature fading of interior finishes and reduce condensation.
Insulation
Wall construction of 2” x 6“ studs filled with an R-22 bat insulation, basement walls insulated full height with R-12 (to within 6” of the basement floor) , R 31 two component spray in place of foam under exposed living areas. The home will be tested by an independent third party to meet the rigid Energy Star requirements for air leakage. All of which will provide greater comfort and heat retention, and lower cooling costs.
Air Treatment & Conditioning
Your home will be equipped with a high efficiency natural gas forced air condensing furnace with a minimum efficiency rating of AFUE 90 %. In addition an HRV (simplified installation) will be installed which will be interconnected with the furnace. Both will be controlled by an Energy Star compliant programmable thermostat. All exposed basement ductwork will be sealed to ensure the ductwork delivers the air where it is needed. The ductwork will be designed to maximize efficiency. All of which will assist in the management of your indoor air quality and your energy bill.
Electrical Savings
Each home includes a remote real time electrical power consumption monitor. The system measures the consumption of electricity in the home with an energy monitoring and measurement device, and shows this information on a wireless display module. Real time consumption information provided by the monitor can allow the typical homeowner the opportunity to reduce their electrical consumption by 10-20%.
Solar Ready
All the homes will include a roughed in conduit prepared for the future installation of either a solar hot water heating system or solar electrical generation from photovoltaic cells. Ask our sales staff for further details.
